The English Speaking Skill Problems of Grade Twelfth Students, at Dhammaratsueksa School, Chiang Mai, in 2022

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) to Study the Problems and the ways to improve English Speaking Skills of students in twelfth grade in the academic year 2022 at Dhammaratsuksa school, Chiang Mai. 2) to compare two groups of high school students between novice students and lay students in the twelfth grade of Dhammaratsuksa school, Chiang Mai, in 2022. The quantitative method was used in this study. The tool used for collecting data was questionnaires. The sample comprised of 30 students in twelfth grade for collecting data in quantitative method. The statistics used for analyzing data were Frequency, Mean (), Standard Deviation (S.D.) and Percentage (%).

The results of the research were as follows;

  1. The Problems and the ways to improve English Speaking Skills of 30 students in twelfth grade at Dhammaratsueksa school, Chiang Mai, were at a moderate high level ( = 3.33).

2) There is no statistically significant difference of The Problems and the ways to improve English speaking skills of 30 grade twelfth students between novice students and lay students at Dhammaratsueksa school.

Suggestions for the further study of the problems of English speaking skills of the high school students are: 1) students should try to speak English through learning with self confidence and try to communicate with foreigners as well as knowing more extensively vocabularies. 2)  Enhancement in applying English sentence structures for an interaction with people, so that students are able to improve their confidence in speaking English correctly and completely.
